Hey--a long time ago, they happened to be friends! This was requested by a tumblr buddy.
I don't normally get all meta on my own art but I paid real close attention to their faces and poses. Kal-el is comfortable on Earth and he loves it, plus he's Superman so can let his guard down a little.
Lex on the other hand looks like he's about to spring from his seat. His face looking up and his troubled expression make him seem caged even though he's not. Lex is greedy and like the Bond song, the world's not enough for him.

Lex's expression is like "the swing is not enough, I will buy this park and upgrade it" XD he is uncomfortable because the swing isn't in his standards
